Family Orientation Program

Experience UIC

We are proud to offer a separate, yet concurrent, UIC Orientation for families. This program is an excellent opportunity to become more familiar with the campus and its resources, policies, and procedures. Family plays a significant role in a student’s adjustment to college life. This program will provide you with the information needed to better support your student during their transition to UIC.

Program Dates

Program dates for 2018 fall between May 24th – August 15th. Not all dates are available to students in all academic programs. It is strongly recommended that you attend your Orientation on the same day as your student.

Orientation Fees

A fee of $75 for each family member and guest will be charged to your student’s university bill. Fees will post to your student’s account in late summer to avoid mid-summer financial aid conflicts when trying to register for classes. Please plan accordingly for this charge to post to your student’s account prior to their start at UIC.

Check-in is at 7:45am at the first floor of Student Center East (SCE) by the bookstore located at 750 South Halsted Street. It is important to note that aspects of the orientation program will have families and guests follow a separate program from the students. These sessions are designed to address your specific needs and concerns as families and guests. The UIC Orientation for families is a one-day event.
