Arriving Early/Staying Late

First-Year Students

Your Future Starts Here

The UIC Orientation for first-year students is a two-day overnight Orientation designed to acquaint you with UIC, ensure your success by providing information and up-to-date resources, and provide you with your first opportunity to meet with an academic advisor.

When making travel arrangements, please be aware that all activities are mandatory and students may neither arrive late nor leave early. An overnight stay is required for the first-year program. We will provide on-campus overnight accommodations for each student.

Arriving Early/Staying Late

Students that need to come a day before or stay a day after Orientation may arrange for lodging on campus in the university’s residence halls. A $28/night fee for additional lodging will be billed to your student account after Orientation. These arrangements must be made and confirmed with Orientation a minimum of seven days prior to your arrival.
