First-Year Students

Your Future Starts Here

The UIC Orientation for first-year students is a two-day overnight Orientation designed to acquaint you with UIC, ensure your success by providing information and up-to-date resources, and provide you with your first opportunity to meet with an academic advisor.

When making travel arrangements, please be aware that all activities are mandatory and students may neither arrive late nor leave early. An overnight stay is required for the first-year program. We will provide on-campus overnight accommodations for each student.

Program Dates

Congratulations on your admission to the University of Illinois at Chicago! Program dates for 2016 range from June 2 – July 26. Not all dates are available to students in all academic programs.

Orientation Fees

Students will be assessed a fee of $149 for each first-year student and $75 for each family member. Fees will be charged to your university account.

PLAN TO BRING

Identification

A government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, state ID, or passport.  For questions regarding alternate forms of identification, contact Jessica Stewart at (312) 996-3100 or Blanca Nieves at (312) 996-3356.

Comfortable Clothes/Shoes

Comfortable walking shoes, athletic attire (for optional night activity) and appropriate clothing for the day’s weather. We recommend avoiding open-toed and heeled shoes.

Money

Money for miscellaneous expenses, such as university souvenirs etc.

Your NetID, Enterprise ID, and password information

Overnight Essentials

Personal care, shower slippers and casual clothing for overnight stay.

PROGRAM CHECK-IN

Check-in is at 7:45 am at the Behavioral Sciences Building (BSB) located at 1007 West Harrison Street.
