Winter Orientation


The UIC Orientation for first-year, transfer and readmitted students is a one-day session designed to acquaint you with UIC, ensure your success by providing information and up-to-date resources, and provide you with your first opportunity to meet with an academic advisor.

Program Dates

Program dates for Winter 2019 are in December and January. Not all dates are available to students in all academic programs.

Orientation Fees

Fees will post to your account after all of the orientation sessions have been completed in early January.

Orientation Fee Discount Request

Orientation Fee Discount Request Form: Click here to access the form. Completed forms and all supporting documentation must be received at least seven days prior to your orientation; otherwise, the full Orientation fee will be incurred.



A government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, state ID, or passport.  For questions regarding alternate forms of identification, contact UIC Orientation at 312-996-3271.

Comfortable Clothes/Shoes

Comfortable walking shoes, athletic attire and appropriate clothing for the day’s weather. We recommend avoiding open-toed and heeled shoes.


Money for miscellaneous expenses, such as university apparel or other spirit gear.

Check-in runs from 7:45-8:15am at the Student Center East (SCE) in front of the UIC Bookstore. If driving, please plan accordingly with Chicago traffic. The closest parking structure is the Halsted Street Parking Structure (760 W. Taylor St) which costs $13 per day.
